AFTER 3 YEARS IN EDITING HELL
// The Film was shot during the Covid-19 Pandemic. All Scenes were assembled by mid 2021. It was suspended several times and put on hold for almost one full year. In the last 2 weeks it was finished.
“As you spend so many months on it, you grow out of your likings. Your grand ideas become small. Things you like become disliked. Things you disliked… well… they are disliked even more. It all leaves a bad taste, no matter how much you twist things and try to solve the parts that make you uncomfortable. So the best thing you can do after such a long time is to shuffle the cards and draw anew.“
// In its second incarnation -the cut down `8 Minute Remix Version’ of the original 30 Minute Cut- the film is a direct reaction on the difficult unfinished status the project was stuck in for several years. Reorganised the fragmented pieces of the original brought new life to the material.
“At last I hope it, at least partly, reflects what I think to be the biggest artistic struggle. Since what you're aiming for in your outcome is constantly changing with your perspective, you may never create something you can ever truly feel finished with. The whole Editing-Concept was based on this idea of unsettlement. That’s what earned the film the additional title Remix and its fragmented Style of fast paced montages and slow soaking images.”
