Zwischenraum

Set in a Berlin café, Zwischenraum follows Priya, an Indian immigrant desperate for a work visa to save her family’s home, and Irena, a guarded Ukrainian mother clinging to her own fragile residency. Despite the heavy pressures of their precarious lives, the two women forge a quiet, life-affirming friendship over a shared thermos of tea at their intersecting tram stop. But when an accidental mistake leads to a devastating robbery at the café, their bond faces an impossible test. As the blame threatens to destroy one woman's life and visa, the two friends are forced to navigate the agonizing space between survival and loyalty in a bureaucratic system that may not allow them both to be safe at once.
